You do the crime, you do the time.

So, I have been debating on whether or not to blog about this.
But decided,
"what the hay, might as well."

Recently one of my husbands soldiers got into trouble.
Which of course ment time taken away from our family for him to go in and councel the soldier.
In the end, the soldier got extra duty....

Mowing the lawn in housing.
Starting with ours first.
My husband is kind of Old School like that.

Box Car

Diapers bought in bulk is a real time saver for my family.
Recently, our commissary had the box of Pampers diapers.
After dropping off those at the day care for Isaac, we had the box left over.
And a box for 2 big brothers means they are going to want to put little brother inside.

They pushed him around like he was in a car

Isaac had so much fun being able to keep up with his brothers, even if he wasn't doing a lick of the work

Isaac even stuck his tongue out at me as if to say
" HAHA Can you get them to push you in a box?"

The End of Summer

As summer ends here in Europe
I think of my favorite picture from our family vacation at Legoland Deutschland

IMG_2590-1

It's of my husband and our son Seann.
So much of our life is Army, Army, Army.
And for this short weekend
It was Daddy, Husband, Best friend.
This was the first, carefree, genuine smile I had seen from my husband in a long time.
My favorite vacation picture.

Whats your favorite vacation picture from this summer?

Frugal Friday-Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Recently my baby sister did a school project
where she made a new doll house from reusable items she found laying around.
Which included using an told end-table as the frame of her doll house.

Well my baby sister and I are very much alike.
I reuse myself.
Quite a bit.

For example:
I use...

And
*Empty formula containers to hold small toys*

Also
*The glass that candles come in, after they have burned*
Stick it in the freezer and the left over wax will pop right out
Run it through the dishwasher
and
*You've got a pen/pencil holder*

And last but  not least
my favorite reusable

TADA!!

What reduce, reuse, recycle practices do you use?

Milspouse Friday Fill-In

1.What characteristic about yourself has either been strengthened or weakened due to your experience as a Military Spouse? (from The Albrecht Squad)

My ability to bounce back from setbacks. Whether it’s an extended deployment, financial or house hold issues, instead of breaking down I automatically go into resource mode. Deployments have made me stronger in the sense of knowing what and how to use those resources.

2.What is your favorite vacation spot and why? (from ‘Tis the Life of the Army Wife)

Well we have lived in Europe for 4 years, so right now our favorite vacation spot is home. TEXAS!

3.If you could have any fast-food restaurant in the food court on base/post what would you pick? (from The Only Pink in a House of Blue)

Oh that one is easy, CHACHOS!

4.Where did you go on your honeymoon? (from Pennies from Heaven)

We went on a shopping spree in Austin, Texas. My husband and I were college students when we got married, so going shopping was the best, most practical things we could do.

5.If you could have any job in the world regardless of money, degree or experience, which job would you have and why? (from Proud to Be a Navy Family and The Calm Before The Storm)

I would be a Dental Hygienist. It is what I am going to college for. I love working with people, and helping make their smiles gorgeous.

I found her alone
On the side walk
Looking up towards the sun
Screaming for him to look back at her

Wednesdays

My 6 month old son Isaac is starting to crawl
He gets up on all fours
And rocks back and fourth hoping and praying he will get somewhere
And after about 5 minutes
He looks like this

This is how Wednesdays makes me feel
I'm not in the beginning of the week, and I am not at the end.
Just in the middle, rocking back and fourth

Do you ever feel that way?

First day if Kindergarten

Recently we survived our first week of
KINDERGARTEN!

The handsome young man pictured above is my oldest
Brandon P. Jr

It was bitter sweet to send him off to school.
I cant believe how much he has grown.

We have gone from bottles and diapers
to
cups and big boy underwear.

And now

We move onto bestfriends, broken hearts and crazy little women calling my landline at all hourse of the night.
BUT
there is hope my dear friends.
My Auntie Thelma thought me a wonderful secrete to dealing with the little ladies.
example:

Ring, Ring

Mom: Hello?

                                                        Girlfriend: Hello, is Junior there?

Mom: Who? Junia? No Junia here
                                                          This resturant, what you want?
                                                                   {Foreign accent}

Hey it worked for her until my cousin caught her.

Jumping Joe

So, I have this Grandpa and way back in the day
when he was young he was a US Soldier.
Grandpa was no ordinary soldier, he was
A Green Beret

A real GI Joe he was

He did all kinds of tuff cool things

Which included jumping out of air planes.
(His nickname was Jumping Joe)
Growing up, I wasnt around Grandpa too much.
He lived in Florida and we lived in Texas.
But when I did see him, there were always the stories of his good ole' army days.
And each one concluded with him being tuff because he was a Green Beret.

Well that old Grandpa of mine is sick.
Thank God, things are looking better for him, but none the less he was sick.
Its hard to think of my Green Beret Grandpa being sick.
I mean common, he's jumping joe, a real live GI Joe.
But it happends.

Kinda makes me think how nothing is forever.
Well except Gods love, thats forever.
But life here isnt forever.
Makes me want to hug someone.

MAMARAZZI MONDAY

Seriously?
No, I mean it, seriously?

Who knew a 6 month old could hold this straight of a face.

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

I just subscribed to this, and I missed this past Fridays, but I still would like to particiapte so here I go.

1. How do you spend your deployment money, do you save, pay off bills or enjoy the extra money while it is there to buy the things you do not normally have? (from Troop Petrie)

I pay off bills. Last deployment I paid off my car note, and 4 credit cards. By the time my husband got back, we only had 2 credit cards left.  This deployment I am working on student loans.

2. If you could relive one occasion or moment, what would it be? (from Currently On Land)

I would relive my wedding. It was such a wonderful day filled with family and so much love. Even the little mis-happs that day were oblivious to me because I was so happy.

3. What’s the worst job you ever had and if it was so bad why did you take it? (from Faith and Deploying)

I would have to say that would be, working at the Dental Clinic in Baumholder. And I did it because I loved dentistry, and being able to do what I loved all day is what mattered to me.

4. If you could play any character on TV, who would you be? (from Many Waters)

Thats a hard one, um, I guess I would be that super old chick from the Golden Girls. She was halarious!

5. If you could become the world’s expert in something, what would it be? (from Army of Two)

Parenting.

Baking!

In my days of being a SAHM, I baked all the time. I would literally sit around and think of all the crazy things I could do to a cake to decorate it, and then spend hours trying.
Now, I am a working Mom. 40+ hours a week I am a Family Readiness Support Assistant for an Engineer Battalion, so now I spend hours sitting around thinking the many different ways I can help prepare families for deployment and beyond.... No more baking thoughts, or atleast not as many as I would like.

So recently, I saw a good friend of mine at the commissary waiting to order a cake for his wife’s home coming, and had a grand idea. I told him, “don’t worry about it, I’ll do it!” Besides, we were invited to the party; she is a good friend of mine and this gives me a great excuse to bake!
                                                                     So........

*I rallied the troops*

*I readied my weapons*

*And we baked*
-For hours-

*Some didnt survive the late night battle*

But in the end!

We conquered!
It’s not my best work, but it’s pretty good considering I haven’t used any of my
cake making skills in many moons.
